Choose the right size

Choosing the right size of a refrigerator is not as simple as it seems. I used to think that measure the dimensions of the area I have and then look at the dimensions of the refrigerator and bam, we have got the best refrigerator.

But that’s not the case. In fact, you have to dig deeper to choose the right size.

First, we need to measure the width, depth, and height.

Before buying a refrigerator, take multiple measurements of the area where you will place your refrigerator. For me, it’s in a kitchen.

I have got a cabinet. So, I have to take the measurements from floor to cabinet lower area.

The second step you have to take is to measure the size from side to side. Now, you have your dimensions of the site.

If you are replacing your old refrigerator with the new one. Then, the task is easier for you. All you have to do is take the measurements of the old refrigerator. However, if you want to change the refrigerator’s style, the same ruling of new refrigerator buying will apply.

I should also let you know that you have to leave space on the refrigerator’s right and left sides. That’s how the pro installer takes the measurements.

You have to measure the door opening area

You need to measure the sizing of the door or doors of a refrigerator. Make sure that the refrigerator doors do not hit the upper cabinet, the countertop, or anything.

You need to leave some space for the swing door

If you are getting a swing door refrigerator, you should leave some space side-by-side to open fully. Do not stick it in a way that it swings open and hits your wall. The fridge may survive, but the paint on your walls would not.

Leave Space for Ventilation

Ensure that you have left the space for the ventilation system of the refrigerator to work. Suppose you don’t let it vent properly. In that case, there are chances that the motor and the compressor of your refrigerator will burn.

Okay so, we are done with the measurement of the space where the fridge will be installed. Now it’s time to look at the size of the refrigerator.

What refrigerator size should I get?

The size of the refrigerator totally depends on your family size. To make to more authentic, look at the table below.

Number two, the eco-friendly machinery is not as harmful to the environment compared to older technology. So Always Opt for Energy-efficient technology.

Smart Refrigerators

Everything is getting smarter. Smart refrigerators can be controlled via WIFI. They have this excellent display where you can leave notes instead of pasting a paper. Which usually get lost, and in the end, your wife ended up being the winner of the argument. 😉

Leaves No Marks

If you hate marks on your fridge then, go for a refrigerator that is fingerprint-resistant.

Keeps your food fresh

Look for a refrigerator that keeps your food fresh. There is an excellent dual tech system in new refrigerators that keeps your food fresh for a more extended period.

Ice and water through the door

I conducted a survey with my family and friends and that’s the feature they wanted the most. However, According to my own research, this feature comes at a high price as well as the running cost will be higher. But, if you can afford it go for it. When I will have money I will certainly get a refrigerator with this feature.

Quick Access

We do like easy to access things, don’t we? There are refrigerators that offer door inside a door for quick access to your favorite beverages or food.

Temperature and humidity Control

Temperature control is the most basic function that comes in almost every new fridge. However, if the refrigerator you are planning to purchase has no temperature control? then, I think you should not buy it. The same goes for humidity control it should be available in the refrigerator.

Organized Shelves and Drawers

Again, I conducted a survey with my family and friends and 90 percent of them told me they would prefer a refrigerator that has organized drawers and shelves for keeping things tidy.

The finishing of a refrigerator is totally depending upon you. There are stainless steel and other coating and coloring available. In my opinion, get the durable one or get that one that matches your décor. Or get both, totally up to you.
