Without a doubt, the Corona Virus pandemic has brought many changes in our learning and earning patterns. While locked down, we found out that the headphones/earbuds we usually use to listen to music and watch videos aren’t the best ones for conference calls. To meet the demands of this new era, one must have high-quality earbuds with him/her all the time. That is why, in this article, I have summed up three of my favorite earbuds available in the market for conference calls.
But why wireless earbuds only? Why not cans?
Earbuds do have many advantages over headphones, such as:
- Wire/Cord Free: First of all, earbuds are wireless or cord-free. You will never have to get into the hassle of unwinding jumbled cords. Besides, you can easily walk and talk. You are not limited to your phone or desktop. You can conveniently move around.
- Incredible Sound Quality: Because earbuds are wireless doesn’t mean you’ll have to compromise on sound quality. Oh no! Earbuds provide such incredible sound quality that many of the cans out there can’t even match.
- Stylish: Earbuds look really stylish. They give a sporty look.
- Able to Connect to More than One Design: Unlike headphones, earbuds provide you the freedom of connecting them to any device that has Bluetooth. Such devices include your television, mobile phones, tablets, desktops, mp3 players, and many more.
- Affordable: Earbuds are more advanced in look and sound quality than cans. But guess what? They cost the same amount of money as the cans. Then why invest in something less when you can have a better option in the same price range!?
These are a few reasons I’m focusing on wireless earbuds in this article and not on headphones.
Let’s get started with the list of best earbuds.
What are the best earbuds for conference calls?
If you are in a hurry, I have created the following table to help you choose the best earbuds for calls.
Apple AirPods Pro- Righteous Daddy Choice
The very first earbuds on my list are Apple AirPods Pro.
Apple AirPods Pro was released in the market in late October 2019. These are apple’s first AirPods that offer active noise cancellation. These are compact and light-weight wireless earbuds. These are ideal for listening to music, watching movies, and of course, making conference calls.
Below I have encapsulated the main features of AirPods Pro.
Transparency Mode: Transparency mode in AirPods Pro allows you to keep track of your surroundings while listening to music. In this way, you can join in a conversation, keep track of your stop, or talk to your staff without skipping your favorite beat.
To enter into the transparency mode, long-press the stem or enable it via phone controls.
Noise Cancellation: AirPods Pro is apple’s first earbuds that feature active noise cancellation. Trust me when I say that AirPods Pro is quieter than the Bose. Without turning on the music, you would feel that the people around you were talking to each other several feet away and thought they are in the same room. Likewise, when you turn on the music and pump up the volume to 60-70%, you will drown out all of the noises around you.
Audio Quality: They deliver clean and balanced audio. The bass is sturdy, and overall, the sound quality is warm and tempting.
Battery Life: These tiny earplugs offer 4.5 hours of battery timing. AirPods Pro’s case charges wirelessly with a lightning cable. If you are in a hurry, by chance, and give them a 5-minute charge, they will still provide you an hour of continuous playing.
Bluetooth 5.0: Apple AirPods Pro features Bluetooth 5.0 that reaches 800 feet, so from quite a distance from your phone, you can still listen to the music. You can easily connect your earbuds to any other device that features Bluetooth 5.0.
Call Quality: AirPods Pro is incomparable in conference calls. To date, they provide the best call quality as compared to their rivals. They proffer clear conversation and silence out all the nearby dins.
Water and Sweat Resistant: Though Apple does say that AirPods Pro is water and sweat resistant, it doesn’t mean you should go swimming with these. But yes, they are IPX4 sweat certified, so you can take them to the gym.
Siri: You can control many of the earbuds’ functions by saying “HEY SIRI.”
Controls: With a single tap, you can either play/pause a music or answer/end a call. With a double-tap, you can skip a song to the next. While three taps skip the song backward. Long pressing actives noise cancellation mode. You can also control these mini earplugs via iPhone settings.
That is all about its features.
Let’s head towards its incredible design.
Measurements: Each AirPod measures 0.94 by 0.86 by 1.22 inches, while the wireless charging case measures 1.78 by 0.85 by 2.39 inches.
Weight: Both the AirPods weigh 0.38 ounces in total, whereas the charging case weighs 1.61 ounces.
Sensors: The sensors included in AirPods Pro are: Dual beamforming microphones, Dual optical sensors, a Motion-detecting accelerometer, and a Speech-detecting accelerometer.
Compact & Light-weight: Carrying them around is exceptionally comfortable due to their compact and light-weight design.
Silicone Tips: Three sizes of soft silicone tips are included so that you can choose and customize either of your choices. There are vents in the tips that help to equalize the pressure on both sides of the AirPods.
Color: These are available in white color.
This is all about its design.
How to Connect on iOS?
To connect AirPods Pro with an iOS is super easy and breezy.
- First of all, make sure your device is updated to 13.2. Otherwise, they won’t connect.
- Once the update is done, a small card will pop up from the bottom of the screen, saying “Connect.”
- Once you have pressed “Connect,” you’ll now see the battery percentage of both your AirPods and the case.
- All thanks to the H1 chip, the pairing of AirPods Pro is a piece of cake.
How to Connect on Android?
For connecting the AirPods Pro on an android device, follow the enlisted steps.
- Long-press the button on the back of the charging case. This will let you in Bluetooth Pairing Mode.
- Pair them with your device.
- You’re good to go!
Note: Consider that all AirPods Pro’s functions might not work on android devices. For instance, auto-pause detection and Hey Siri won’t work. Fortunately, active noise cancellation and transparency mode run perfectly fine on an android device.
Though Apple AirPods Pro is defined to perfection, they are not free from faults. Upon researching, I found the following defects in it:
- Drains Battery Very Fast: The fact that one pod drains is dead before the other one is genuinely unpleasant. Moreover, both the Pods must function to activate noise cancellation.
- Pricey: No doubt in there, Apple AirPods Pro is quite heavy on the pocket.
Let’s have a quick review of the things I liked and disliked in Apple AirPods Pro.
AirPods Pro contains three microphones, six different sensors, and an H1 chip in them which is quite shocking considering that they are so compact and light-weight. Though these tiny buds need improvements in battery timing and some other areas. I can not deny that they are one of the most comfortable and best active noise-canceling earbuds available in the market today.
Samsung Galaxy Buds+ Plus
The second wireless earbuds for conference calls in my list are Samsung Galaxy Buds+ Plus.
Samsung Galaxy Buds+ is an elevated version of Samsung Galaxy buds. With upgraded features and improved battery life, these beasts provide maximum output. The powerful mics deliver your voice loud and clear, isolating it from external nuisances.
Let’s have a quick review of all its top features.
Battery Life: With Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus, you get 11 hours and 44 minutes of non-stop juice. The right earbud is likely to die our few minutes before the left one. With just 3 minutes charge via case, you get 1 hour of continuous playing. So, next time you are running late, throw the buds into the case for just 3 minutes, and you’re good to go.
Sound Quality: If you are a pop lover, these earbuds are perfect for you, for they provide elevated and satisfying bass. Vocal reproduction is clear and convincing. High notes are crispy and notable.
Microphone Quality: These little beasts feature three microphones: two on the outside and one inner work together to offer the clearest possible voice transmission. Besides focusing on your voice, the outer mics also combat background noise. This is what makes them a perfect fit for conference calls.
Compatibility: Samsung Galaxy Buds+ Plus is compatible with both iOS and Android. You can conveniently pair them with any device via Bluetooth.
Bluetooth 5.0: These buds feature Bluetooth 5.0 and provide 10 meters of wireless range.
We are done with its features.
It is now time to sketch out its fascinating design.
Measurements: Samsung Galaxy Buds+ Plus measures 1.52 x 2.75 x 1.04 inches.
Weight: They weigh 4.8 ounces.
Build Material: The earbuds are made of plastic to keep them as light and comfortable as possible.
Color: These buds are available in black color.
This is all about its design.
How to Connect Samsung Galaxy buds Plus?
You can effortlessly connect Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus with your device in the light of the following steps:
- If you have a Samsung device updated to Android 7.1.1 or SmartThings installed, a window will pop-up containing the pairing option.
- Or else, you can pair the earbuds via the Phone’s Bluetooth menu by selecting “Galaxy Buds+.”
Enlisted below are the extras included with the earbuds.
- USB-C Charging Cable
- 3 Size Eargel
Just like every other product, these earbuds also have some imperfections.
Ready to find out?
- Lack of aptX support: These earbuds support SBC, AAC, and the scalable Samsung codec but lack aptX support. That is a little bit of a letdown. As long as you are an iPhone or Samsung user, there are no issues. However, for others, latency is an issue
- Low Bluetooth Range: Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus provides a low Bluetooth range compared to Apple AirPods Pro. With Samsung buds, you will lose the connection frequently.
Let’s have a quick review of the things I liked and disliked in Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus.
After processing all of the information into my mind, I have concluded that Samsung Galaxy buds Plus is worth the money. Despite incredible microphone quality, these beasts also offer exquisite sound quality. This makes it perfect for both conference calls and listening to music. Also, the battery life is incomparable.
Jabra Elite 75t Earbuds
These are the third and final earbuds on my list.
Jabra Elite 75t Earbuds provide great conference calls experience with their four powerful microphones and silence out nearby distracting noises. These mini earplugs fit perfectly in your ears and deliver an exceptionally comfortable experience.
Let’s have a comprehensive examination of all of its impressive features.
Microphones: These beasts are equipped with four high-quality and powerful microphones that deliver your voice as clear as possible to the other person while silencing out the disruptive noises around you.
Stable Bluetooth Connection: A stable wireless connection with no audio dropouts and interruptions is promised by Jabra Elite 75t Earbuds.
Active Noise Cancellation: These earbuds put a stop to disruptive noises around you and let you focus on your music only.
To activate active noise cancellation, use the Sound Plus App.
Battery Life: Jabra’s battery life is truly fascinating. They deliver 24 hours of battery timing with enabled active noise cancellation.
This is all about its features.
Let’s have a quick review of its elegant design.
Measurements: Jabra Elite 75t Earbuds measure 0.86 x 0.76 x 0.64 inches.
Weight: They weigh 0.60lbs only.
Colors: These earbuds are available in various pretty colors: Mint, Copper Black, Sienna, Gold Beige, and Titanium Black.
Comfort: They fit perfectly in every type of ear and provide great comfort throughout.
This is all about its design.
It is now time to review these earbuds’ significant downsides.
- Bass is Overwhelming: Though we target earbuds for conference calls, obviously, you’re going to use the same buds for audio listening, isn’t it? Well, in this case, you might be a little disappointed to know that the bass it provides is too overwhelming. If you’re not a pop person, then these aren’t a good option for you.
- Water Non-Resistant: These are 4th generation earbuds, but sadly they provide resistance for sweat only. You have to be extremely careful when it’s raining or snowing.
Let’s have a quick review of the things I liked and disliked in Jabra Elite 75t Earbuds.
The bottom line is, Jabra Elite 75t Earbuds are a very good choice for conference calls. These buds have a good grip inside your ears and don’t fell out unless you want them to. Their bright side is heavier than the dark side. With microphones, active noise cancellation, and long battery life, you get to enjoy a perfect conference call experience. These minibeasts provide you the freedom of taking calls and playing music while staying connected.
